Dear Shop2Feed Family, Salaam!
This Ramadan ShoptoFeed will continue its yearly tradition of providing daily meals to feed hard-working families in the streets of Kabul. It is our commitment, not only to ourselves, but our donor community to give the best aid and support through your involvement, support and contributions.
As Shop2Feed evolves, this year we’ve made a collective decision to elevate our practices in better serving those in need. In the past, we’ve primarily focused on collecting and reselling second-hand items to fund our effort but as we expand our efforts, we would simultaneously need to expand our reach. For the moment, we are currently pausing our resale initiative to work towards a model where we can collaborate directly with well-established brands to acquire new goods, build our internal team and finalize our 501c3. This will allow us to execute on the meaningful impact we wish to see in Afghanistan.
We have been so fortunate from previous campaigns that we still have an excess of $5,000 saved from our last fiscal year. In collaboration with our local partners in Afghanistan, we’ve allocated a budget of 2,000 Iftar meals to be evenly distributed during the first 20 nights.
As part of our commitment to always be transparent, we will always continue to share photos and videos of the nightly meal distributions, so you can see the direct impact of your kindness in real time.
ShoptoFeed’s vision is to create a year-round program to help those in Afghanistan, not just during Ramadan but to be readily available to build communities and provide sustainable support to families.
If you wish to continue to support us, we are open to any contributions through our website. Additionally, if you would like to help us continue this work and join our team please visit Get Involved to see opportunities.
We know there are many causes you could support, and we are so deeply honored that you choose to stand by us. Thank you for your unwavering belief in our mission, and for your endless compassion and generosity.
With heartfelt gratitude and warmest wishes,
Nahid and Mashael
